Intercoiffure 2011

This year Intercoiffure’s Visionary  of the Year Award  held at New York City’s landmark Warldorf Astoria, went to the legenday Oribe. An amazing presentation and colaboration between Oribe and our Color Director  Anthony Palermo, together they designed a signiture rainbow of color swatches,  that cleverly matched hair flowers  and dress ! “Bringing back glamour and creativity is such an important part of our job’s as hair dressers” says Oribe, “We must take it back to American Fashion!” With that said,  A modern Marilyn was quickly transformed to a classic Elizabeth Taylor. Another high light of the evening:   a list of  amazing Oribe fashion moments, presented to us by  Sarah Jessica Parker, who was quoted after seeing Oribe’s performance ” That was one of the best theatricle performance’s I’ve ever seen in my life!!!” Another fabulous night in NYC.

Anthony & Leonard’s Best/Worst Dressed: Oscars 2010

Judging from the opinions expressed by clients and stylists at Anthony Leonard Salon, many agree that this year’s Red Carpet at the Oscars was nothing spectacular.  Many of the stars made beautiful gowns seem unattractive simply because they were ill-fitted.  Were the top seamstresses on vacation last month, or were the mirrors distorting body images?  Particularly, those mentioned from this category were Sarah Jessica Parker, Vera Farmiga, Miley Cyrus, among others.  Despite the negativity, and without further ado, here we present Anthony and Leonard’s Best and Worst Dressed for the 2010 Oscars:

Anthony’s Best Dressed Pick:

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture

Anthony:  A different actress may not have been able to pull off this gown, but Zoe Saldana was iconic Hollywood glamour in this dress.  The purple hues complemented her skin tone, and Zoe’s height kept the gown looking fierce and perfectly tailored to her body.

Anthony’s Choice for Worst Dressed:

Sigourney Weaver in Lanvin

Sigourney Weaver in Lanvin

Anthony:  For a woman of her height, age, and status, this dress was a poor choice.  The black sash and overall fit of the dress was not flattering for a 6-foot woman, not to mention the hairstyle!

Leonard’s Best Dressed Pick:

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

Leonard: My pick for best-dressed goes to Sandra Bullock because she really did look like a movie star.  Her sparkling cap sleeve made her shine even more as she awaited her category.

Leonard’s Worst Dressed Pick: Undeclared

Leonard: I can’t decide!  I might have picked Tina Fey, but I like her a lot so I’ll avoid the negative remarks on this one!
