Juggle With Style

We started our week with a great event at our salon for Fashion’s Night Out with special guest author Susan Fales -Hill signing her hot new novel “One Flight Up”. There was champagne flowing, great music playing, and fabulous people doing what they do best….. socializing!
The next couple of days were followed by A-list celebs calling for a little touch of magic by our very own Anthony and Leonard. The True Blood beauty Deborah Ann Woll dropped by the salon to have Leonard give her a 1940’s Veronica Lake hairstyle for her first ever fashion show at Lincoln Center.
Day 3 of our week Leonard was back stage making sure Mr. & Mrs. Hilfiger were ready for their special apperence. As Tommy launched his collection for Spring 2011, a star studded audience including Jennifer Lopez, Bradly Cooper, Lenny Kravits and Kimora Lee Simmons, glammed the night followed by a 25th Anniversary tribute to his label with an amazing performance by the Strokes.
The Rock and Roll vibe did not end there. Allow me to explain ….When you see the name Springsteen on your caller I-D…. You know the boss is calling for a reason! As quick as I could pack my bag of tricks, I was off to Jersey to prep the royal couple for the red carpet at the Toronto Film Festival.
In this wild business of beauty we need to be prepared for anything ; fashion parties , Hollywood vampires, top notch American designers , and the biggest names in the music industry. Juggling all this while operating a busy Madison Avenue salon , things certainly stay interesting. We don’t always know who will call, but one thing we know for sure is Anthony & Leonard will always do what they do best…..keeping the stars shining bright!

Anthony & Leonard’s Best/Worst Dressed: Oscars 2010
Posted by Anthony Leonard Salon | Filed under Events, Movies
Judging from the opinions expressed by clients and stylists at Anthony Leonard Salon, many agree that this year’s Red Carpet at the Oscars was nothing spectacular. Many of the stars made beautiful gowns seem unattractive simply because they were ill-fitted. Were the top seamstresses on vacation last month, or were the mirrors distorting body images? Particularly, those mentioned from this category were Sarah Jessica Parker, Vera Farmiga, Miley Cyrus, among others. Despite the negativity, and without further ado, here we present Anthony and Leonard’s Best and Worst Dressed for the 2010 Oscars:
Anthony’s Best Dressed Pick:
Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture
Anthony: A different actress may not have been able to pull off this gown, but Zoe Saldana was iconic Hollywood glamour in this dress. The purple hues complemented her skin tone, and Zoe’s height kept the gown looking fierce and perfectly tailored to her body.
Anthony’s Choice for Worst Dressed:
Sigourney Weaver in Lanvin
Anthony: For a woman of her height, age, and status, this dress was a poor choice. The black sash and overall fit of the dress was not flattering for a 6-foot woman, not to mention the hairstyle!
Leonard’s Best Dressed Pick:
Sandra Bullock in Marchesa
Leonard: My pick for best-dressed goes to Sandra Bullock because she really did look like a movie star. Her sparkling cap sleeve made her shine even more as she awaited her category.
Leonard’s Worst Dressed Pick: Undeclared
Leonard: I can’t decide! I might have picked Tina Fey, but I like her a lot so I’ll avoid the negative remarks on this one!
